Für "spread" kenne ich die Übersetzungen "Abweichung" oder "Streuung". Die Abbildungen, die ich bisher in englichen Texten mit chromosome spreads gesehen habe, zeigen ein "Chromosomen-Gewusel". Von daher würde "Chromosenstreuung" ja ganz gut passen, aber Google kennt diesen Begriff nur 3x, während er für "chromosome spread" 25.000 Treffer angibt. |

Könnte es sich nicht einfach auf mit einem bestimmten Verfahren (einem Spreader/Streichgerät,) hergestellte (mikroskopische) Präparate beziehen? Diese Technik wird auch als Spreading bezeichnet.

Hallo,
ich habe Biologie studiert und habe mich erinnert, daß oft von Präparaten die Rede war. Unten habe ich noch zwei Links angehängt, in denen man lesen kann, wie ein spread gemacht wird bzw. allgemein über Chromosomen.
Ich würde sagen, daß es ein Chromosomen-Präparat ist oder - etwas umständlicher - auf Objektträger fixierte Chromosomen.
Wenn man so ein spread, oder Präparat hat, kann man durch Färbemethoden die Chromosomen sichtbar machen.
Hoffe, das hilft.
