Of a total of 333 cDNA:invertase clones isolated and sequenced, 1 partial cDNA clone with limited sequence identity with B7-1 was identified and termed mGL50-1. **RecA mediated full length cDNA isolation** from a mouse fetal thymus cDNA library resulted in the generation of 4 additional cDNA clones that contained 3’ untranslated regions as well as overlapping the partial signal trapped sequence clone.

recA ist doch ein "Reparaturprotein" der DNA. Habe ich den Satz dann so zu verstehen, dass zunächst eine recA-vermittelte Rekombination erfolgt, so dass wieder eine cDNA voller Länge vorliegt, und die dann isoliert wird? Oder ..?

RecA katalysiert hier keine DNA-Rekombination, sondern sorgt dafür, dass sich einzelsträngige cDNA-Fragmente an doppelsträngige Plasmide, die jeweils die entsprechende vollständige cDNA enthalten (die mouse fetal thymus cDNA library), anlagern. Es bildet sich eine Tripelhelix. Die Fragmente sind markiert und können so anschließend, mit den daran gebundenen Plasmiden, isoliert werden.
