This part of the St Lucie River is also called the Indian River, and it’s an authentic nature reserve – for plants as well as animals.

Conditions are ideal – not a breath of wind and plenty of sunshine. The river, which is in fact a small delta, is getting much narrower.
The banks are dotted with magnificent properties and – where nature has taken over – the occasional alligator
The Sainte-Lucie is brimming with fish, its surface lightly brackish.
We are in the northern section of the river which is a protected area, and one of the best in the United States in terms of the variety of wildlife.
Explanation: Naja, ist mit der Club Med Geschichte verwandt, aber anscheinend war "Sandpiper" ursprunglich der Name einer Flussmündung. Darauf wurde in den 60ern eine der ersten Rentnersiedlungen in der Gegend gebaut, der auch "Sandpiper" getauft wurde.
