English to German translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Geology / oil drilling | | English term or phrase: hoghead | This is miner's slang for the person who oversees the special formulation of mud during the [oil] drilling process.
Anyone familiar with an equivalent German slang term?
"Specially formulated mud prepared under supervision of the hoghead is injected through the hollow drill-string in order to cool the drill bit..."

Ok, das ist kein Slang, aber wenigstens eine Übersetzung.
Der einzige Spitzname, den ich aus der Praxis für Ingenieure kenne, ist "Weißkittel", was in diesem Fall wohl auch nicht passt.
Aber vielleicht findet sich ja noch ein Kumpel, dem etwas Üblicheres als "Schweinskopf" :-)) dazu einfällt.
Wenn ich es jetzt erfinden müsste, würde ich "Schlammkopf" sagen.

\"Bohrspezi\" wäre auch noch eine Lösung. (Wenn auch nur aus einer Filmbesprechung.)
Die verzweifelte NASA holt sich also den Bohrspezi Stamper (Bruce Willis) und seine verrückten Jungs.
