In der Wissenschaft an der Uni (wo ich eigentlich herkomme) bedeutet "grant" Drittmittel, Dritter im Sinne von 1.) Empfänger (=Wissenschaftler), 2.) Staat (der die Uni als solches finanziert), 3.) Drittmittelgeber z.B. DFG, der die konkrete Forschung finanziert. --- bin aber nicht sicher, ob das hier im vorliegenden Fall auch so gemeint ist
