"die umfassende Tradition konventioneller Verlogenheit errichten" klingt in meinen Ohren irgendwie verkehrt und nach Maschinenübersetzer, mir will aber partout keine stilistisch befriedigende Lösung einfallen.

Explanation:
"Ausgedehnte" wäre denkbar, auch "landläufiger", etwa auch "an der ... Tradition ... zu bauen". Sowohl "tradition" als auch "conventional" sollten m.E. in der Übersetzung bleiben, Actons wegen (am Ende auch Galbraith's?).
