English to German translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Government / Politics | | English term or phrase: community of practice | | text is about effect of Informations Society Technologies on social capital, term appears in the phrase "in particular the paper examines civic engagement and knowledge transfer within and across communities of practice" my suggested translation/explanation to follow the English term in parenthesis (unless anyone knows a ready-made equivalent in German) is: "Fachgemeinschaft zur gegenseitigen Wissensförderung", does that sound ok? |
| | | Community of Practise | Explanation: I would use the English term since 'Community of Practise' is also used in German contexts. But if you HAVE to translate the term 'Fachgemeinschaft zur gegenseitigen Wissensförderung' seems quite suitable. |
