Aus einer Untersuchung über den Demokratisierungsprozess in verschiedenen Ländern:
This conclusion is based on comparing countries' "electoral competitiveness". If a government sprang from reasonably fair elections and the elected government is able to fill the most important political offices, the country is deemed "electorally competitive".

Wer kennt die deutsche Entsprechung von "electoral competitiveness" bzw. "electorally competitive"? Vielen Dank im Voraus für die Hilfe.

Explanation:
Von Wettbewerbsfähigkeit (die gängigste Übersetzung von "competitiveness") würde ich im Zusammenhang mit Wahlen bzw. Wahlsystemen nicht sprechen. Ggf. umschreiben (letzter Teilsatz): "... so kann für das betreffende Land von einem funktionsfähigen Wahlsystem ausgegangen werden". Bei dem vorher genannten Vergleich würde ich vom "Grad der Funktionsfähigkeit des Wahlsystems" sprechen.

Explanation:
Yes, I am guessing.
But it seems to me that the text is about the electoral systems of different countries.
If an electoral system of a countrz can fulfill the requirements of having a government elected which can fill the most important political offices, the country is deemed "elektroral wettfähig."

  -> That's why I said that I was guessing. However, I believe the sense of Wettfähigkeit or Wettbewerbsfähigkeit could be the right word for it, especially the last one.
