Explanation:
"Derart geschüttelt durch diese tiefe Krise und die allerorten gegenwärtige Zerstörung des Landes lockerten sich (nach und nach) viele der Regeln, die bis dahin Bestand gehabt hatten - was bei den einen zu einer strikt konservativen Haltung führte, andere widerum dazu bewegte, jegliche Tradition zu hinterfragen."
Vielleicht kannst du besser im ersten Fall "crisis" ersetzten - z.B. "größte Schwierigkeiten für die Landwirtschaft", oder ähnlich.
Nur ein Vorschlag...

Danke, Peter, "in Frage stellen" wollte ich eigentlich auch noch hinzufügen, hatte aber erst gerade keine Zeit und es dann vergessen... wie das eben immer so ist! ;-)
