English to German translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Human Resources / HSE company culture | | English term or phrase: "HSE is how we do business around here" | This sentence is the top of a company culture ladder.
It is all about HSE, safety at work etc.....
The step below that reads:
"Safety leadership and values drive continuous improvement"
The one below that:
"We have systems in place to manage all hazards"
and two more...
My translation for the first sentence was:
"In unserem Betrieb wird stark auf die Einhaltung aller HSE-Maßnahmen geachtet."
The customer was not happy with it and has sent me this comment:
"... the problem is that this is a crucial phrase. The idea behind this phrase is that it takes more than just compliance to HSE measures to make a company be at the Generative level of culture - something very few companies or even parts of companies achieve. It takes commitment at all levels, people have to feel that they are always missing some aspect in how they handle HSE and that they have never quite got it right - the problem with the proactive stage is that people think that if they comply with all the HSE measures etc then that will be enough... when it is actually not."
So, to make a long question short: does anyone have any snappy ideas for "HSE is how we do business around here"? Thank you in advance! |
