Belastbar
Explanation:
Hallo Klaus,

ich habe unter diesem Link http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/wear
folgendes gefunden (bei 8.):

"To last or remain durable under hard use or over time; to retain usefulness, value"

ich denke also ,dass "belastbar in diesem Fall es am Besten trifft. Ansonsten könnte man auch von "langlebig" oder "hält sich gut" sprechen.

It is a person the rest of us can "bear". It is not their durability that goes with their respectful demeanor.

"wear" here has a time element to it, IMO

Reference information:
I agree with Horst : It is a person the rest of us can "bear"
and also with Cilian: "wear" here has a time element to it, IMO

It is quite difficult to find a documented definition/explanation of this usage, but I did find this one:

wear
to have the quality of being easy or difficult to tolerate, especially after a relatively long association: It's hard to get to know him, but he wears well.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wear

It may help to think of "wears well" as being equivalent to "not wearing", i.e. not tiresome, annoying, etc. and therefore liked, accepted, tolerated

Durability in relationships
Since you must sustain personal relationships over time, it is important to be able to maintain long-term people relationships. Being dependable, following up, and being knowledgeable are all qualities that enable you to "wear well" with your customers.
