No particular context really, I was just writing an e-mail to a client, saying not to worry about a document being late, and realised I didn't know the German equivalent of this expression. Something along the lines of:

"Thanks for letting me know the document will be delayed. Things have been a bit hectic here too, *it's just been one of those days* I guess!".

Thanks for all the interesting contributions. I went with the voting here, although I also liked Francis' "Der Schicksal wollte es heute nicht anders" - that seemed to about sum up the day I'd had!
