English to German translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Internet, e-Commerce / dotcom burnout
English term or phrase: dotcom drone
What many dotcom drones find hardest to deal with, however, is the culture shock of entering an experimental new business

Dafür braucht man eine poetische Ader!

Dotcom-Deppen
Explanation:

Drone, computer jargon
Ignorant sales or customer service personnel in computer or electronics superstores. Characterized by a lack of even superficial knowledge about the products they sell, yet possessed of the conviction that they are more competent than their hacker customers. Usage: “That video board probably sucks, it was recommended by a drone at Fry's” In the year 2000, their natural habitats include Fry's Electronics, Best Buy, and CompUSA.

Don't be a faceless programmer. People prefer to buy from other people - buying from a bland Internet-drone is not going to give them any satisfaction.

Drove home and have become a mindless computer/internet drone. Everybody's working for the weekend....

Hi Susanne,

Ulrike
