Komisch, ich komme aus Bayern und kann trotzdem Klinker von Backstein unterscheiden. :-) Mauerwerk klingt auch okay, aber ein wenig altertümlich und nicht so griffig wie Klinker.
In Norddeutschland sind die Häuser überwiegend mit Klinkern verkleidet (daher meist rot oder gelb), in Süddeutschland typischerweise verputzt (daher meist mehr oder weniger hell gefärbt). Eine mir von Geburt an sehr vertraute, in Süd-D lebende Dame weiß nicht, was "Klinker" überhaupt sind. Meine "Coqueira" ist in Nord-D in einem "Klinkerbau" aufgewachsen und musste sich erst an die abweichende Optik "südländischer" Bauten gewöhnen. Natürlich finden sich auch verputzte Häuser im Norden, umgekehrt Klinkerfassaden im Süden, aber der Begriff "Klinker" ist m.E. unter bautechnischen Laien im Süden wenig bekannt.
Frage: Weshalb sollte "Klinker" nur in Norddeutschland verstanden werden? Das ist kein regionaler Ausdruck, Klinker ist einfach eine Art Mauerstein, die man in D, ob Nord oder Süd, alle Naselang findet.

Explanation: "dem Handel von morgen", "Dimensionen setzen"? "Boundaries" riecht nach "Grenzen" --- wohl weniger gefragt. Nur zur Variation in der Syntax.
