Ich denke, es geht in die Richtung, die Steffen angezeigt hat. Den Vorschlag von Francis kann ich nicht beurteilen, jedoch spricht mM mehr für die "Über"-Idee im Sinne einer höheren Wissensebene, die durch vermehrte Kommunikation über alle Grenzen hinweg wächst oder zugänglich wird, weil von "by über-knowledge of all their trades" die Rede ist. Daher: "vom kollektiven Wissen aller ihrer Handelszweige".

Ja, Francis, dann lag ich falsch mit meinem Vorschlag. Ich habe zwar immer noch die Idee, dass ein kollektives Wissen eine Art Überwissen ist, doch sollte hier wohl schon der Begriff Überwissen verwendet werden. Danke. Du müsstest die 4 Punkter erhalten.
