Ich vermute stark, dass es hier im Zusammenhang mit einer Mean-Reversion-Strategie um ein vom Anleger erstelltes Ranking für die impliziten Volatilitäten von Aktienoptionen geht. Die Mean-Reversion-Strategie beruht auf dem Umstand, dass Volatilitäten immer wieder zu ihrem Mittelwert zurückkehren.
Unterstellt der Anleger zum Beispiel einen Mittelwert von 25 %, wird er, wenn die Volatilität unter 25 % liegt, sein Engagement wahrscheinlich ausbauen. Der Basiswert (z. B. bei einer Option auf Aktie A => 24 %) wäre also top ranked. Liegt sie bei oder über 25 % (z. B. bei einer Option auf Aktie B => 25 %), macht er das Gegenteil (bottom ranked).
Falls ich recht habe, solltest du dir deine Übersetzung von "top ranked" noch einmal überlegen (Ralf fragen).

Eines scheint mir sicher: Hier geht es um eine Rangliste und nicht um die über den Aktienkurs ausgedrückte Bewertung und auch nicht um die Frage, ob ein Titel als erstklassig eingestuft wird oder nicht. |
