Preliminary estimates of the German Federal statistical office show that German GDP increased by 0.3% q-o-q in Q2 2009, the first rise since Q1 2008. Although a detailed breakdown of GDP components is not yet available, it seems that consumer spending, government consumption, ***capital formation in construction*** and net exports contributed positive to GDP while inventories remained a drag.
