|English term or phrase: all incremental and reclamation and collocation|
|it's an older IBM Backup philosophy concerning their AS/400 mainframes and clients. The current philosophy is called "progressive incremental", which probably means the same.|
Anyone out there who can help with a German translation of both terms?
|Inkrementalsicherung / Regenerierung / Colocation|
This concerns different data storage strategies and technologies.
Incremental: only partial data saves are made, whereby often only those files that have changed are actually saved or archived, whereas unchanged files are ignored.
Reclamation: this concerns the regeneration of data, often on the basis of backup systems.
Colocation: this usually concerns idential computer systems, which are maintained as a mirror copy of one another, including all programs and data. The term is also used in German. See URL: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=lang_nl|lang_en|lang_d...
for some sites that may give additonal help.
