Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s)
English term or phrase: netting
simply Gegenrechnung?
here's the context:
"Netting" means the offsetting of the total amount each Party owes to the other Party during the relevant invoicing month to reach a net amount payable by one Party only. Written statements of the balance shall be exchanged each month to reflect the amounts subject to Netting by both Parties. This shall not prejudice the Parties' right to set-off other payment obligations.

Und wie drück ich den Unterschied zw. "netting" und "set-off" aus?
Vielleicht kann mir ja der "Dichterfürst" helfen?

Netting
Explanation:
Der Begriff "Netting" ist in der deutschen Rechts- und Finanzsprache gebräuchlich; für "set-off" würde ich hier von "Aufrechnung" sprechen.
