Explanation:
POST GRADING: I don't want to say that Hans is wrong, but it is not the only possibility (and actually, askers are requested to wait 24 hours before grading): the term "charge" is - according to Black's Law Dictionary, 2nd Ed. - "an encumberance, lien, or claim."
I don't have the time to go into it, but there is a slight distinction between a mortgage and a charge: a mortgage is gernerally defined as a transferof interest in property, whereas a charge is (as mentioned above) merely a security interest. Therefore, I suggested "Sicherungsnehmer," which would (IMHO) tke this distinction into account.
The term "Pfandnehmer" is often translated as "pledgee," though it may work in your context, depending on the actual type of security interest that is referred to here.
