Dies ist nicht mein Text, aber er ist sehr ähnlich. Plurality bereitet mir Schwierigkeiten, einerseits, weil es in Verbindung mit each steht. Man kann ja eine Vielzahl nicht in mehrere Vielzahlen aufteilen. Ich habe erst an Gruppe gedacht, aber andererseits gibt es auch group of blocks, sodass der Ausdruck schon besetzt ist. "a plurality" lässt sich am besten mit "mehrere" übersetzen, in diesem Beispiel wären das "mehrere Frequenzsubbänder", "jedes der mehreren Subbandbilder", "mehrere Blocks", "die mehreren Blocks".
Vielzahl oder Mehrzahl würde ich nicht verwenden, das ist nur etwas, das Patentanwälte gerne einsetzen, die vom Übersetzen und vor allem von sprachlichen Dingen meist eher wenig Ahnung haben. |
