Nun, es gibt offenbar noch keine Übersetzung für 'child patent' wohl gibt es 'child operation' in der Informatik lt. IATE mit den zuvor von mir angegebenen Übersetzungen. Da dort 'child' als 'Tochter...' übersetz wurde, darf wohl geschlossen werden, dass man hier von einem 'Tochterpatent' spricht. Habe ich zwar noch nicht gehört oder gesehen, sondern lediglich 'Unterpatent' das ein Patent ist, das sich von einem anderen Patent her ableitet, ohne dies zu verletzen, dieses aber ergänzt. (Hat Ihre Tante kein Reserverad? ;))
ist 'child patent' der Fachausdruck, und mir scheint, man hat continuation hinzugefügt, um es dem Laien klarer zu machen. Vielleicht weiß wer besseres , es ist, m.E. , ein typischer Doppelmoppel aus dem legalese.
