Trademarks are protected as from the date of application for registration. Any interested third party may oppose such application within the 60 (sixty) days term from the publication of the application in INPI’s Official Gazette. If no oppositions are presented, the INPI will start the registration viability evaluation.

If no oppositions are submitted and if the INPI accepts the trademark application, granting of registration takes approximately 24 (twenty-four) months. The applicant has 60 (sixty) days to evidence the payment of the final registration fees to INPI, otherwise the application is deemed to have been abandoned. Renewal of registration is granted provided that renewal fees are paid during the final year of validity or within the six-month **grace period** allowed after the registration has expired. In case of lack of payment the registration is canceled ex officio by the INPI.

Das wird bei der Verbindung von Patent und Gebührenzahlungen (aller Art) auf den verschiedensten Websites verwendet. Eine Gnadenfrist ist es sicher nicht. Das wäre wohl der umgangssprachlichere Audruck. Und die andeen scheiden schon wegen der sinnmäßigen Unvereinbarkeit aus.
