English term or phrase:Caveat Stultus
Kontext:
In einem Siegel eines Notars, der die Übereinstimmung einer Kopie eines "Current Appointment Report" einer englischen Gesellschaft beglaubigt, stehen diese beiden Worte in der Mitte. Ich gehe davon aus, dass man diese Wort als bekannte lateinische Begriffe beibehalten kann, bin mir hier jedoch nicht ganz sicher. Außerdem wüßte ich gerne die Bedeutung dieser Worte in diesem Kontext.
Freue mich also, wenn Ihr/einer von Euch diesen Begriff kennt´und mich aufklären kann.

Über Google findet man zu "let the fool beware" fast ausschließlich folgende Warnung:
"Of all his talents let the fool beware;
Mad for the bait he never sees the snare.
Harness to fear God thy strength and skill,
Else there’s no bane so deadly as free will."
For the unenlightened: Caveat is the VERB. Third person singular, present active subjunctive, meaning "let him/her/it beware". Emptor, meaning "buyer", specifies the subject. Thus, if you wish to issue a warning to any other type of individual, it is emptor that should be replaced, not caveat. http://languagelover.blogspot.com/2008/02/caveat-stultus.htm...
z.B. caveat emptor -der Käufer soll sich in acht nehmen, aufpassen- das ist die Kurzbezeichnung für den schon im röm. Recht bekannten Grundsatz, dass der Käufer die Augen offen halten muss, weil er den Verkäufer für *erkennbare* Mängel der Sache nicht haftbar machen kann.
"caveat stultus" ist mir noch nie untergekommen. Wild geraten: Im Siegel eines Notars könnte das eine Warnung an den rechtlich Unkundigen sein, nicht zu glauben, er könne die Urkunde ohne Rechtskenntnisse und ohne fachliche Beratung verstehen.
Das heißt dann aber wohl auch, dass der Notar alle Nichtjuristen für dämlich hält. Typisch.
bedeutet Vorbehalt, Bedingung, woertlich "aufpassen". Stultus - keine Ahnung. Latin dictionary meint "foolish", also toericht. Unterm Strich, keine Ahnung...sorry
