  -> A legal counsel for the State in international arbitration proceedings, which function the law firm that I represent performs, means exactly "Rechtsberater" or "Rechtsbeirat", please do not mix it up with Attorney or Attorney-at-Law that you implied.

Asker: Danke. Die Übersetzung gefällt mir besser, ich habe die Punkte aber dem Doktor gegeben, der einen ähnlichen Vorschlag gemacht hat und ganz am Anfang der Diskussion eine Erklärung des Begriffs geliefert hat. In beiden Fällen übrigens "ProzeSSanwalt".

In internationalen Anwaltskanzleien sowie großen nationalen Kanzleien werden bei den Rechtsanwälten folgende Bezeichnungen bzw. Hierarchiestufen unterschieden:

Associate: Hierbei handelt es sich um einen angestellten Rechtsanwalt. Je nach Berufserfahrung wird zwischen Junior und Senior Associates unterschieden.
Counsel: Hierbei handelt es sich um Associates, die nicht zum Partner ernannt wurden, die die Kanzlei jedoch dauerhaft an sich binden will oder um eine Zwischenstufe für zukünftige Partner.
Non-Equity-Partner: Hierbei handelt es sich um eine noch nicht ganz vollwertige Partnerschaft.
Equity Partner: Hierbei handelt es sich um eine volle Partnerschaft.
