A study collecting data from three behavioural referral practices — one in Canada and two in the USA — found that 59% of 743 cases attended were because of aggression (Lindsay 2001).
According to the data from this study, some differences could exist between the prevalence of behavioural problems estimated by small animal veterinary practices and specialist behavioural referral centres.
