English to German translations [PRO] Livestock / Animal Husbandry | | English term or phrase: sow parity factor | | The sentences in a paper on the "Infection Pattern of Mycoplasma Hyopneumoniae Evaluated with a Longitudinal Study Model" reads: "The infected pig can eventually shed the microorganism for many weeks. A different importance is tied to the sow parity factor when related with risk of transmission to the offsping and old sows seem to be more implicated in the vertical transmission compared with gilts. Direct contact (nose to nose) between positive pigs and naive animals is recognized to be of pivotal importance for horizontal transmission". Can anyone help out with "sow parity factor"? Thank you very much. |
