What is a competency framework?
Each competency is a skill or attribute which enables a person to perform successfully on the job. Competencies are more about “how” you achieve your objectives than about “what” your objectives are. The competency framework is the set of behaviours that the organisation deems to be important for successful business performance.
Why have a competency framework?
It provides consistency across the organisation; everyone in the organisation from top to bottom will be assessed and rewarded against a common set of criteria. It sets a clear standard so that everyone understands what the organisation expects of them. It will help individuals to identify their strengths and weaknesses and plan their personal and career growth. It reinforces the 5 Group Values and defined how everyone needs to work in order to deliver business success. |
