SSM als Abkürzung von Semi Solid Metal Casting oder eben SSM Guss - es handelt sich um ein mehr oder weniger neues Gießverfahren, bei dem Flüssigmetall einer bestimmten Temperatur in eine Hohlform gespritzt wird. Dabei ist das Metall nicht mehr ganz flüssig, aber auch noch nicht erstarrt, semi-solid eben.
Dieses Verfahren soll zwischen Gießen und Schmieden liegen.
Die ersten beiden Links erklären ungefähr, worum es geht und die letzten beiden zeigen denselben Ausdruck bzw. die Abkürzung SSM in deutschen Texten.
