Jetzt taucht bei meinem Eilauftrag auf einmal Pferderennen Terminologie auf.

Unter einem Bild eines Pferderennens in einer Werbung für ein Arzneimittel:

There's place and show. Then there is XXXX

Könnte mir ein Pferderennen Experte schnell aushelfen.

Platzwette habe ich gefunden, aber was ist das Gegenstück zu "show"???

Show bets: You bet the horse to SHOW (come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd). You receive payment if the horse comes in 1st or 2nd or 3rd.

Verstehe \"There\'s place and show. Then there is XXXX\" so:

Es gibt \"place\" und \"show\" und es gibt \"win\" = XXXX.
Bei Place und Show setzt man auf die zwei oder drei besten (Pferde/Arzneimittel)
bei Win setzt man nur auf das Beste (Pferd/Arzneimittel)

d.h.: Es gibt ein paar, die sind gut, aber es gibt nur eins, das ist Spitze.

Explanation:
Vielleicht geht es um die Sicherheit des Arzneimittels? Pferdewetten sind ja nun mal nicht die sicherste Art ans Ziel zu kommen.
