English term or phrase: publicly owned company vs government body
Both are possible answers in a questionnaire (Question: who do you work for?). Both are somehow "staatlich", but what is the difference?

German translation:börsennotiertes Unternehmen / Regierungsorgan, Staatsorgan
Explanation:

Explanation:
In some countries, governments own (partly/fully) certain companies, i.e. "publicly owned companies". Prime examples were mail and telecom companies (it has changed a lot over recent years), but shares in iron/steel companies or coal mining were also popular in the past.
