Mein Mann (US Amerikaner) sagt er habe den Ausdruck noch nie gehoert und auch eine Internetsuche ergibt keine Treffer. Vielleicht eine falsche Uebersetzung von Beginn an??
Vorstellen kann ich mir jedoch, dass es soetwas meint, wie "jemanden in sein Terretorium lassen" , also aufnehmen etc. und dies in umgangspsrachlicher Weise.
