XYZ is one of the leading manufacturers of tape and film. (as in adhesives)

also ... there are numerous applications for tape and film.

Ich würde eigentlich dazu neigen, beides als Band zu übersetzen, aber anscheinend gibt es ja doch einen Unterschied.
Bin wie immer für jeden Vorschlag dankbar :-)

Called Beiersdorfs Klebefilm, the tape was first released in 1935 and renamed tesafilm in 1941, a name it still goes by today. Wann setze ich für die äußere Abdichtung eine Folie und wann ein Band ein?

Bei parallel verlaufenden Fugenflanken bietet sich der Einsatz von Dichtbändern an, da sich das Band gleichmäßig an beide Flanken pressen kann und so die Fuge abdichtet.

Handelt es sich um versetzte Flanken oder verlaufen diese schräg zueinander, sind Fensterfolien besser geeignet, da sie auch an versetzten Flanken gut verklebt werden können. Jedoch müssen Folien, anders als Dichtbänder der BG1, gegen UV-Licht abgedeckt werden.
