English to German translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) / Catalyst in an alkylation process | | English term or phrase: assynthesize | Another one, it is about a catalyst used in an alkylation process. Here's the sentence:
As is well known in the art, silicalite, which in the *assynthesized* form is characterixed by orthorhombic symmetry, can be converted to monoclinic symmetry by a calcination procedure...
I can't find a German word for this, at least not with the obvious terms (assynthetisiert etc.). Looking for the English word only results in American sites without an explanation.
I think it might mean that the catalyst silicalite is synthesized into an assymetric form but I've got no proof for that.
Thanks so much for your help. |
| | | nach der Synthese | Explanation: "assynthesized" should read "as-synthesized" and means that it hasn't been modified/changed/processed in any way since synthesis, i.e. 'still as it was on synthesis' |

| Note from asker to answererThanks a lot Cilian, now that you mention it: it was as-synthesized but split over two lines so I wasn't sure 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
