In einem Bericht über Migration kommt der folgende Satz vor, in dem die Berechnung der Arbeitsmarktbeteiligungsrate erklärt wird:
The participation rates calculated by the authors [of the study] refer to all persons in the labour force (including the unemployed) in the numerator and all persons of active age (men: 15-64, women: 15-61) excluding persons in education in the denominator.

Meine (etwas freie) Übersetzung lautet wie folgt:
Die von den Autoren der Studie zitierten Beteiligungsraten berechnen sich aus der Anzahl aller Mitglieder der erwerbstätigen Bevölkerung (inklusive der erwerbslosen Personen) geteilt durch die Anzahl Personen im aktiven Erwerbsalter (Männer: 15–64 Jahre, Frauen: 15–61 Jahre), ausgenommen Personen in der Ausbildung.

Stimmt das so? (Mathematik bzw. Statistik ist so eine Sache ...)

Im Deutschen spricht man von Nenner und Zähler, so wie Du es interpretiert hast, ist es natürlich auch richtig.
