The following equation solves for L when S is less than L.

Additional information: The "solves for L" refers to the "L" in the equation. "L" is "Length": Length of vertical curve in feet (or meters). (Equation is not included in text)
How do I translate the "solves for L" properly? Thanks for any advice.

efreitag: With Cilian. Never heard this.The links you provide don't use it either./With all due respect: No, they don't! Both links use the word "löst", but not in the way your suggestion does. I've yet to see a case where a "Gleichung auflöst".That's pure nonsense

-> Yes they do!! Just type in "nach" in the search bar and you will find it! My first link uses it in all examples!
