Kann mir jemand bei der Übersetzung von "accuracy" in genau diesem Zusammenhang helfen? Es geht um Stichproben, und der ganze Absatz lautet (Überschrift: Accuracy):

Accuracy is the difference between the observed average of measurements and the true average. Validating accuracy is the process of quantifying the amount of bias (inaccuracy) in the measurement process. Experience has shown that accuracy and linearity are typically not major sources of measurement variation for continuous data.
In service applications, this most often involves testing the judgment of people carrying out the measurements.

Ich hatte zuerst an "Genauigkeit" oder "Präzision" gedacht, aber das passt nicht in den zweiten Satz (... accuracy ... no major sources of measurement variation ...). Dann habe ich auch folgenden Wikieintrag gefunden http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accuracy und bin mir nun nicht sicher, wie der deutsche Fachbegriff hier lautet. Kann jemand helfen?

You ay want to read the Wiki article. In any case, I think the EN "precision" translates to DE "Präzision" - so you are left with DE Genauigkeit for EN accuracy.

Asker: Aber ich komme mit der Definition nicht ganz zurecht, denn in dem Artikel steht u.a.: With regard to accuracy we can distinguish: the difference between the mean of the measurements and the reference value, the bias. Establishing and correcting for bias is necessary for calibration. the combined effect of that and precision. Würde das nicht bedeuten, dass in meinem Ausgangstext "accuracy" mit "bias" (Verzerrung) gleichgesetzt wird? Das ist es, was mich hier so stutzig macht?
