  -> Durchaus, allerdings kannte ich den Begriff so nicht - bivalent kannte ich bisher nur aus der Chemie. So lernt man jeden Tag was dazu :)

...als Alternative. So besaß der gute alte MAN 5-Tonner der Bundeswehr einen Vielstoff-Motor, der so gut wie alles verbrannt hat, was man in Tanks einfüllen und entzünden kann...

Bivalent ist natürlich der modernere, weil fremdwortige Ausdruck dafür...

Explanation:
Ich glaube, dass dieser Kraftstoffmix so zu verstehen ist, dass Dieselbetrieb für die Leerlaufdrehzahl und Zündung benutzt wird und Gasbetrieb für die Leistung (siehe Link 1). Auf diese Weise funktioniert das Motorheizkraftwerk Stendal (siehe Link 2).
Übersetzungsvorschlag:
Bei diesen neuen Generatoranlagen ... können konventionelle Dieselaggregate mit zwei Kraftstoffen betrieben werden, 70% Gasbetrieb und 30% Dieselbetrieb.
