Explanation: I am not sure, but that is what I managed to find in a - admittedly - very quick search.
BTW, in Britain most cars had/have different names from the European mainland so don't be surprised if you don't recognize/remember an Atlas model by Ford... The same applies to makes: Mainland Opel becomes Vauxhall in the UK.
