I'm afraid my expl. was a bit short. The text mentions ringbolts (pls use google pictures to have a look) = Ringschrauben that are used as "Transportösen". Adjustment is by screwing them in or out a bit, so that the ring is in an easy-to-use position. Strings are passed through the rings to make carrying/lifting of the valve easier. (This has nothing to do with precise adjustment in the sense of "Justieren".)
