Ha ha meirs. I guess that I am a little older than you and my degree is on Mechanical Engineering but in my early years in Argentina it was supposed that an engineer should know about everything related to technical matters. But they were so wrong! Have a nice weekend.

Is a fixed property of the motor - does not change with the actual starting load - so it is not the right answer. The amount of heat developed in the motor during starting does change with the load (inertia) - and thus, the momentary temperature rise of the windings. That in turn shortens the life of the insulation - and of the motor itself.

Die thermische Zeitkonstante wäre m. E. eine passende Antwort. Sie ist abhängig vom Widerstandsmoment der angetriebenen Maschine (falls ich mich noch richtig daran erinnere).

Thermal stress findet man auch wirklich in Fachwörterbüchern (thermische Beanspruchung). In Kombination mit der Zeit bleibe ich jedoch lieber bei der "Belastungszeit".

is the correct EN term - as the motor, when starting, has to first "charge" the energy into the rotating mass (flywheel = Schwungmasse), the lower the inertia of the flywheel, the lower is the starting "effort" of the motor and its heating during starting. The moment of inertia of a rotating mass is usually marked as "I" and the energy required to bring it to radial speed "w" (lower case Greek Omega) is 1/2 * I * w**2 (w square).

Der Ausgangstext ist verdreht. Unter withstand time verstehe ich die Zeit, die ein Bauteil einer Belastung standhalten *kann* - hier ist aber offenbar gemeint, dass die Zeit verkürzt wird, während derer es der Belastung ausgesetzt ist, ihr also standhaten *muss*

Meinem Verständnis zufolge dürfte das auf die "thermische Belastungszeit" hinauslaufen. Die Wärmebelastung taucht ein bisschen unvermittelt auf, aber leuchtet eigentlich trotzdem ein, oder?
