Explanation:
MPI ist anscheinend Wet Magnetic Particle Flaw Detection Testing (siehe erster Link). Ich nehme an, dass es sich dabei von Magnetic Particle Impact ableitet. Der obengenannte Term kommt diesem Verfahren ziemlich nahe, obwohl ich nicht sicher bin.

Zu den anderen Vorschlägen: natürlich wäre multiple point injection auch eine Möglichkeit, habe ich aber nicht im Zusammenhang mit Schiffen gefunden.
