English term or phrase: seek to tail / seek to head

Hallo,
es geht um die Übersetzung eines Programms zum Abspielen von DVDs etc von PC oder Laptop. Zwei Meldungen, die beim Scanvorgang angezeigt werden, lauten "seek to head" und "seek to tail" ??? Head könnte ja noch Laserkopf o.ä. sein.. kann damit aber gar nichts anfangen und finde auch im Web nichts. Hat jemand eine Idee?

Explanation:
Schließe mich im Grunde genommen der Kollegin davor an, denke nur, dass man da eher von Suchlauf vorwärts/rückwärts sprechen würde. Alles andere ergibt m.E. keinen oder wenig Sinn.
