Was ist Gingivitis?
Eine Gingivitis beginnt meist - durch bakterielle Verunreinigung/Plaque verursacht - in den Zahnzwischenräumen. Sie ist eine der häufigsten Erkrankungen des Körpers und oft ein Vorläufer der Parodontitis. Unter einer Gingivitis versteht man eine entzündliche Veränderung des Zahnfleischs. Das unmittelbar an den Zahn grenzende Gewebe im Zahnhalsbereich (Papille) ist gerötet oder geschwollen und blutet bei Kontakt mit der Interdentalbürste oder einer zahnärztlichen Sonde.
