Es geht um Instrumente für das Schneiden von Weichgewebe und Knochen.
In meinem Problemabsatz geht es um den Anschluß verschiedener Stecker in einen zweipoligen Generator. Den einen Stecker steckt der Chirurg selbst ein, den anderen gibt er unter Einhaltung der sterilen Bedingungen weiter. An wen, wird nicht verraten. Und nun kommt der Satz:
Have the circulator insert the male end of the electrosurgical cord.

Während der Operation arbeiten die OP-Schwestern entweder "steril" oder "unsteril" oder als "Springer". Die steril arbeitende Schwester reicht direkt dem Chirurgen die Instrumente an. Sie wiederum wird von der unsteril arbeitenden Schwester unterstützt. Ein Springer erfüllt wechselnde Aufgaben, kümmert sich zum Beispiel um entnommene Organ- oder Gewebeproben, die später weiter untersucht oder -verschickt werden müssen.

.....benannt nach dem sog. Springer (eine bereitstehende OP-Pflegekraft deren Aufgabe es ist ggf. notwendige Geräte und Reservematerialien zu holen und auszupacken).

Die eigentliche OP schwester ist hier circulator (in DE nennt man das wohl Springer),sie ist fuer pre op und post op zustaendig,patient history etc.Waehrend der OP ist die OP nurse hauptsaechlich fuer mich da,wenn ich bestimmte Dinge wie sutures,saline,extra instrumente brauche,muss die nurse rennen und holen,sie ist nicht steril,ich schon.
