Re: geschirmt = shielded (against el.magn. interference), gekapselt = enclosed, which could mean inside anything (and would IMO only make sense if it's actually an optical cable/glass fiber), however boxed is a long stretch from enclosed...

Abgeschirmt ist IMO gegen "elektr. mag." Störeinflüsse.
Gekapselt ist wohl eher zum Schutz gegen Flüssigkeiten etc.
