"nf" (no flange/no fluid)

English term or phrase: "nf" (no flange/no fluid)
This is the same 4 Mirror High Mag Gonio Lens as in my previous question.
They are now describing the “nf” (no flange/no fluid) design of the lens.
I have absolutely no idea how to translate this sensibly.

Sorry Martina, I misunderstood your question.

In that case it seems to me that 'flanschlos' should fit for the first part. And as the lens set is not fitted with/in a flange, it is impossible to put a fluid in the gap between them (e.g. some oil to match refractive indexes). I'm not so sure a term like 'oellos' would make much sense to the reader, though.

Harry, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I finally chose to use "NF (ohne Flansch und Flüssigkeit) which my client liked. However, I am not 100% sure the translation is correct and therefore do not want to add it to the glossary.

Asker: Thanks Harry, but I think there must be a direct translation of no flange/no fluid. I found this sentence on a website: "The standard fluid design (flanged glass contact element) provides a stable platform during laser treatment of the anterior segmen". But this still does not make sense to me.
