While in any of the 3 automatic modes, if the patient probe indicates only a ***direct short*** in the probe circuit this message occurs. As this message is displayed, the trouble alarm sounds and the unit shuts down. This alarm can be silenced using the SILENCE ALARM button. The operator than has 5 minutes to fix the probe. If after that time the condition has not been fixed, the system will trouble alarm again, even though the SILENCE ALARM button has been previously pressed. During this condition, the seven-segment displays will both be blank.
