see below Explanation: I would need more context. Here are the words for pitted I found: ausgehoelt, gelocht, getuepfelt, und techn. genarbt, gekoernt the non- is the opposite of the above. I would think that a non-pitted surface would mean something like "geschmeidig," "glatt" or something similar "ohne Koerner, ohne Narben, ohne Loecher" etc. I hope this is of any help.
