Medical - Medical (general) / sterile Verpackung | | English term or phrase: "peel open" type | Es handelt sich hier um die sterile Verpackung von OP-Abdeckungen und -Mänteln.
The various components/items are assembled in sets or packed individually in a sterile barrier system. The sterile barrier system prevents ingress of micro-organisms and allows aseptic presentation of the product at the point of use. The packaging materials used are adapted to the sterilisation method required by the product materials. The most widely used sterile barrier systems are ("peel open" type):
• Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) system: paper or plastic top/plastic bottom
• SISS bag (previous called Joker bag): plastic bag
• "Film strip header bag" (also called Urania bag)
The paper in all our sterile barrier systems is of medical grade in order to prevent the passage of micro-organisms.
The peel open systems have been treated so that the seal is strong but easy to open under aseptic conditions without having to tear the packaging material.
The sterile barrier is opened in the operating theatre.
